A post-draft point here and, to your point, is the reason PDX over-compensated the Wizards in the Avdija trade. The Wizards had PDX over a barrel due to PDX being over the cap and using that as a chip in the negotiations. Cronin reconciled some of that back by trading the 34th and 40th picks for future second-round draft picks. Still a little rich perhaps, but hey, that's the NBA now.

Imo Camara and Rupert need all the mins at SF. Give scoot and Sharpe the keys at the PG and SG. Ant must be traded sooner rather than later. I dont want to see 3 guards in the starting lineup. Love Ant but he has value atm and Scoot and Sharpe are the future. Scoot/Banton PG, Sharpe/Banton SG, Camara/Rupert SF, Avdija/Walker PF, Ayton/Clingon C. Wish there was a better backup guard than Banton though...

Totally off topic here but I loved the Torey and Steven one on one match up. Would love to see Torey smash Marang in a game. Feels like Marang is a guy who pretends to know everything but has never picked up a ball in his life

Congrats to Portland for the best deal in NBA history. I live in the DC area and have been a Bullets/Wizards fan for 50 years. Now I won't watch any more of their games. The DC metro area has become pretty antisemitic. That has to be the reason they let him go. With everything that is happening with the war, they just didn't want a Jewish guy on their roster. A blessing for Portland and I hope Deni scorches the Wizards when they play this coming season. He will make them regret this trade.

I don’t think the blazers offered anything to move up to 7. I bet Charlotte made that up to try to get more out of Memphis. I think it was clear Portland was targeting Clingan, so Charlotte would have had no reason not to take value to still get their guy at 7

Clingan was never a high-minutes guy. I think they’ll just play him entirely behind Ayton with the two of them splitting the minutes at the 5 while he adjusts to the NBA, then trade Ayton at the deadline or next summer if Clingan shows he’s too good not to start

i just realized, WHAT IF drafting Clingan now opens the door for Dan Hurley to replace CB as a head coach next? hes got that connection with Clingan, not going to be on the spot as a Lakers coach. imo he will be so good in development of young players,

btw Since the TDL last season that they changed his role from SF the point forward he was averaging 20pts...

Deni Avdija is best as a point forward. he played PG at high-school. and last season they changed his role at DC from SF to Point F thats why he made that jump.

you didnt mentioned Thybulle, definitely hes gone now (camara avdija rupert all defenders). so Thybulle, Grant Timelord Ayton... if we get 4-5x 1st on top would be pretty good

I’ve liked Avdija since he was drafted, he’s still NBA raw but the over seas skill set still gives him high potential. I didn’t follow the Blazers this season but I remember when Rui got traded and he was another guy the Blazers could’ve used. I like this trade, 2 years younger than Simons so that helps the timeline. Wishing Brogdon the best, he deserves to find a home, hasn’t been the same since the injury awhile ago.
